Fortunately I still have a small supply of a heavy fibre universal joint grease and it's probably enough to outlast my driving years. As an alternative I might give some consideration to one of the high temperature wheel bearing greases like Mobil XHP 222, but like you I'm hoping someone has found a source for a grease more like the original.
