Chevy's of the 40's offers both 12 and 6 volt bulbs that plug into the original style receivers. Note that they do have 12 LED flasher's, but apparently not 6 volt. They also discuss the fact that the bulbs are very one directional as Big Kev noted earlier. Here's their web site.
