Seat springs

Here is a picture of my front bottom seat springs, notice the offset spring on the driver side. That was that way from the factory, I just sandblasted the rust and rattle canned some paint on it.

Any ideas on why it's offset? The pax side is normal, all lined up. Maybe they were adding a bias for the driver's butt sliding across more often? Anyone else seen that?
