Some postwar two doors only had the rear lights controlled by the pillar switch and yours may be one of them. The wiring would be the same as a 4 door except if there are two quarter lights instead of a single the lights are in parallel. There would only be a pillar switch and no door switches. Power is off the aux breaker or body feed fuse direct to the bulb(s) and the switch completes the ground side.

I don't think I have ever seen a published two door body diagram prior to 55 but if the door switches are wired to operate the rear lights there would be a wire coming from a splice in the wire going to the pillar switch and running forward to connect to the same wire running across the dash edge that connects the door switches to the front courtesy lights. The pillar switch would also turn on the front lights but I don't remember seeing a car where the pillar switch turns on the front lights. You might check out that underdash wire and see if there is anything extra.

The bezel and glass is one unit and is held to the base by friction via some small bumps which slide into holes in the bezel. To remove, grasp the bezel and pull off. In some cases if it is extra tight you may need to use a small screwdriver to start the bezel out being careful to get the driver between bezel and base and not go behind the base assy.

Here are some views of a typical lamp assy that was used in postwar cars.
