49 Deluxe Ignition bypass backup

Hello Everyone,

I have an issue in my stock ignition/starter switch wiring causing hot-restart difficulties. It's not terribly severe, and I need to get the car inspected and mobile as soon as possible. So for right now, rather than hunting it down and replacing which risks a bigger overall rewiring project, I want to install a backup wire with a toggle switch from the hot battery (stock 6v negative terminal) straight to the corresponding coil input. I have appropriate 10g wire, but do I need a specific spec switch and a fuse for this? It will be needed just to start momentarily, once running the backup wire is not needed to keep going so I'd basically flip it on, start the car, flip it right off again.

Thanks,
