Has anyone used a larger front cylinder on their cars?

Yes, I have used the later 1-1/8" cylinders for the front brakes on my 22nd Series Custom 8 (Old mechanics trick for better stopping) It was done by drilling the 3/8-24 to a larger size and tapping for 7/16-20 to match the threads on the brake hoses.

The openings in the backing plates are the same for the original and the newer cylinders.
