Bendix gear doesn't seem to be engaging and the positive post is broken internally. I might fuddle with it to get it going but would like a longer term fix.

55-6 12v starters looks promising. I'll have to dig around. Anyone in Minnesota willing to loan one out?

The entire wiring needs to be replaced and 12v parts can be found anywhere. A lot more work overall keeping it 6v.
