Re: Torque converter rebuild question

Wellllllllll, that was the plan... My transmission shop called today and explained that it is more than a rebuild. The back portion of the converter case where the "fins" are is all chewed up and will need replacing. It seems I will need a torque converter either already rebuilt or to be rebuilt. Peter Fitch was called and he wasn't sure if he had the needed parts or not.

Two questions:

1. Will other year's torque converters fit an 'early' 1950 Ultramatic? If so, which years?

2. Does anyone have a source for this part? Or, does anyone have one lying around that could be for sale?

This seems like it won't end, but I know it will. I have to say that this site has literally been a lifeline for my car. Thanks in advance guys.
