No compression when checked on Cyl 1, 2, and 3... This has me disheartened... I was hoping to hear it run soon, not having to pull the engine...

That doesn't necessarily mean to you have to pull the engine. Check the valve lash (if mechanical lifters) and if you don't find valves with zero clearance, then pull the head and check the condition of the gasket and the valve faces and seats. It's uncommon to have bad valve seats give zero compression, more likely to find several valves stuck in the open position, but pull the head first and see what you're up against.
