It is curious that only the 2611 and 5401/11 Clipper passenger chassis used that ratio. The lesser Clipper model and Packard models all had the 3:54 with Ultras.

It does on the Clipper engines but then they have the higher HP engines on the Packards using the higher ratio. Seems like they would have taken advantage of the lower there as well or is the weight that much more of a consideration the extra 20HP couldn't overcome.
