Do u mean there was a lot of steering wheel effort needed to turn steering wheel???? It probably did not have power brakes either????

Unless the car was modified later, neither power steering nor power brakes were offered in 1951 though Packard did later offer a kit to retro-fit the 1951 cars with Easamatic brakes.
