"wrong" generator & regulator

When ordering a new voltage reulator I was told that the 47 Custom Super used an Autolite system. Mine has a Delco generator (1100002 7E17) with an unmarked Voltage Regulator that appears to be a Delco clone.
Does it matter if I stick with the Delco system? Somewhere in my feeble mind I recall differences in Amp requirements between models, and wondering if I am running the wrong system.
