Rebuilding a water pump...

Hi everyone,

Has anyone rebuilt their own water pump? I've got a press, blanks (to press with) and I've got the means to clean up the exterior of the housing. But not having done one before, I just don't know if I should try it myself ($75 kit from Meritt) or just send it off to have it done. I've pressed bearings, shafts and other stuff, just haven't rebuilt a water pump.
