You might also check the motor number. That will tell you the particulars and from that you can determine if the car has the original engine and if it was the standard or optional engine. If the engine has been changed over the years it will also tell you what year it came from and its size. If needing mechanical parts from one of our vendors you will generally need to know the chassis number for most of those parts and the body number as listed on the patent plate for most body and trim items. A few more pages in is the paint and upholstery codes. Those should also be on the patent plate if the car is not one of the early production cars.
