It looks like a pretty nice car. The matter of price really depends on the age of your friend. I have a 1964 Buick Riviera that I bought in 1978 and I can't remember if I paid $1900 or $2100 at the time. I do remember a couple of friends rolling on the floor laughing at me paying twice the going rate.
Using an equivalent dollar calculator it was about $9,000 in today's money before taxes. I guess I'd have to gross about $13,000 to buy one today. 30 grand for a nice Packard convert, I'd do it.
By the way, the Riviera had a non-authentic vinyl top and after 35 years I decided to remove it. Time and money, US dollars and half a century, can't rush into things. Living with what you want is a lot better than settling for second choice. Some guys aren't into cars and do that in other areas of their life.
