For certain the P&W plate is not correct. Also it seems that there were running changes on the plate between the resumption of production in 1946 and the last use of this plate type on early 22nd series cars. I've seen 21st series cars without the "DE" patents listed and ending in 2,069,924. Here's a plate from a very early 22nd series car and I've also seen this plate on several late 21st series cars.

We were speaking earlier in this thread about how carelessly some dealers entered the dealer and date information - this one looks like it was scratched with a nail. Nice delivery date though! This car now belongs to "GTO", an occasional visitor to these pages.
