There were several (3, I believe) different patent plates used in the 21st Series (and including the very early 22nd series); the list of patents was updated at least twice and they differ only in that listing. The very last version prior to switching over to the new style "paint and trim code" plate started with 1,982,658 and had 9 patents on the far right column but still ending in DE 114,358. So any of those variations would be acceptable for a 21st series car depending on which plate was in use at the time the car was made, and I doubt anyone knows when those changes took place.
