Gas tank for 48

Finally unwrapped the gas tank which had been removed from my 2255 for a closer examination. Much to my displeasure I find it in deplorable condition. Pin holes, rust, broken internal fuel feeder line, not to mention a large rectangular section cut away. I still have the sending unit, but the float is gone.

What's less expensive and plausible? Locating a replacement, either good used or NOS? Or are these reproduced by someone?

I was looking on Max Merrit and it seems old tanks can be repaired, even in this condition. I imagine the price is steep though.
