That description of the field install is interesting because the schematics would have you believe there should be an unused pigtail spliced off the main body feed wire waiting somewhere for that light connection. Wonder if there was a difference if the car came factory equipped with the light vs field install. If the light is powered all the time on those senior cars that came equipped then the schematics would be correct. If the pigtail is not present on all it would be another example of how much cost they tried to cut out of the juniors.
