rear main seal

Good evening gentlemen,
Getting ready for the first road test on my 2106. Have run the engine in garage for a few hours and the rear main was an obvious leak from the start - seriously disappointing. Decided to pull the clutch cover to re-open the weep hole and found this - quite a bit of oil (there's about 1/4" at bottom) and what looks like remnants of perhaps the seal itself? Tell me, wise ones, what's going on here?
