Engine flush

I have a 1951 288, that has been sitting for years, not much mileage. I was wondering how I might flush the old oil from the engine and the pan. One thought I had for cleaning the pan was to drain the old oil and add about 2 gallons of kerosene to the pan, allow it to sit, maybe rock the car back and forth occasionally, then drain the pan. Dumb idea?
Engine has 19,200 miles on it. I do see motor flush products you add to the old oil and run at idle for a bit then drain. But I don't think I want to run this old oil through the system...
Thoughts? John
