Look at my blog. Essentially the same car as your. You can see where I started from, and where I brought it by willing to invest a significant amout of sweat equity.

If your looking to buy as an investment, probably not the best option. If you looking to buy to have a car that is just as driveable as a modern car, and has a lot of parts availability, and learn to work on it in the process, then it's a great car.

For $4500, I would expect it to be fully mechanically sound. Drives, stops, steers without any major problems. If not, find I think the price is too high.
