There is not much factory info but there are a few paragraphs in various service manuals. Here is the 51-4 info. I don't recall if there is much difference between 47 and 53 but I had no real problems in changing a 47 rear. The bearings were very tightly pressed into the yoke and the instructions saying to tap them out were somewhat optimistic though.. Is the type installed on your car not covered? If so, perhaps checking a 46-50 or 55-6 parts manual will have some into.

Hopefully you just need the rears. Front ball and trunion parts for senior Ultramatic models are non existent and several have had to resort to getting a modern slip joint type installed if theirs needed work.https://www.packardinfo.com/xoops/html/downloads/servicemanual5154/Ujoint_XVII.pdf
