47 - ?? small upholstery piece.

On a 21st and maybe thru 23rd sedan could someone please tell me if the small approx 6 x 4 piece of upholstery below the bolster on either side of the rear seat is fabric glued to the metal seat support or is it padded on some kind of cardboard or is it actually carpet.
