Custom Clipper window garnish molding

My window moldings have been painted and in a well worn condition. Generally not much good for a pattern. This is the best photo of a Custom molding I have found but it is taken from a distance and there is not much detail available. Was wondering if someone has a car with the moldings still in very good condition that could answer a couple of questions.

Does the wood grain above the burl run straight across the entire molding like the opening had been cut out of a single large board or does it run with the lengths as if the molding had been made from four pieces and corners had been mitered? I am thinking it was the one piece but want to be sure.

On the grooved chrome squares at each end of the handpull strip. Are they all chrome or was there the two toning effect with silver paint in the grooves similar to what was done with the dash and outside moldings.

On the wrapping of the handpulls. Many years ago someone mentioned that aquarium air tubing made an excellent replacement wrap so that is what I will do. The question of color comes up. Was the original wrap clear or shaded plastic. I have seen some that are almost amber in color. Was that shading original or just old age.

Would appreciate any comments.
