Yes, the spring loaded pin is part of the glove box locking mechanism for Custom 8 models and is located behind the dash on the right side of the opening. There is a hole in the backing plate on the glove box that the pin slides into when locked.
I have never seen the threaded pins on any 22nd Series car and have no idea what they are for.
