Actually I think mounting the adaptor and modern transmission is the easy part. If you look at the pictures posted by Jappe above, you can see one of the big problems that needs to be worked out. Throttle linkage clearance.

It will all vary by carb and tranny combination, but clearance is critical. All modern cables are going to have plastic components, and the heat from the exhaust manifold will melt them just like that. So a custom fab'ed heat shield is necessary.

Also, heat aside, the new throttle linkage most likely won't even clear the upward arch of the exhaust manifold. So you need a BIG spacer under the carb. And you may need that custom fabricated as well.

And if you want to use your old Carter two barrel for instance, no one makes a throttle kit to hook up a modern TV cable. More fab work.

So the Bendsten adaptor is a great, easy bolt on. Just remember you still have other things to figure out to make the whole thing work.
