Stock battery cable ground point is on I believe, the front bolt under the generator which holds the generator bracket to the block. IMO, the extra ground to the frame or body is a good idea. I would move the main ground to the block so the starter will have adequate current and pick up a universal ground strap from Napa & run it between the block and the frame or body for the extra.

The lockout and speedo cables along with the temp gauge bulb exit the large firewall hole at the left top of the depression in the firewall. Temp bulb makes a smooth curve to the left rear of head and OD and Speedo cables go toward the passenger side to a clamp on the firewall. If you have the R9 OD the lockout cable is also clamped to the frame top and goes to the passenger side of OD to another clamp and bracket on the crossover and then the lockout lever. If the R11 OD it needs to cross over top of trans and get to the left side where it is clamped at a bracket and OD. I think the speedo adapter is on the left and also goes over the top of trans but cannot remember for sure without crawling under. Whichever side, it needs to follow a smooth route to the adapter connection so be sure no kinks or sharp bends.
