Re: 22nd Series - Removing dash panel switches?

The switches are all mound to a bracket that is held in place at the back of the dash by 2 barrel nuts. Removing the barrel nuts will allow the switch unit to move back and down but this will likely not be easy due to the rigid wiring harness that will have become much stiffer due to the aging of the rubber insulation on the wires. Best to proceed with caution if only a few wires are being replaced as disturbing the originals can result in the insulation breaking off and exposing bare wires.
There is no direct connection between the pushbuttons on the front of the dash and the switch assembly.
