When I was proofing the driveline group in the Parts Listing database, I saw mention of Spicer and Mechanics u-joints but, other than the 1951-1954 type, this is the first I saw one in situ as it were. My own 1948 transmission doesn’t have it so must be model-dependant which might be another clue about the engine.
