If the motor is newly rebuilt a new/rebuilt oil pump is obligatory as is a new radiator. But that is for modern cars where parts come off the shelf. If the motor has mileage better to save a new oil pump until you need a motor job.
That doesn't work for a lot of that old stuff. I did a couple of engines when there were people machining new parts for Packard oil pumps and the results were extremely good. Now if only they had new old stock crankshafts, carburetors, and engine blocks.
