I don't know the size offhand, but that is not important.

Go to your combination wrenches and find the open end that fits over the quill on the carburetor. That is your stud size. Next go to a catalogue like McMaster-Carr or an old time auto or marine parts place that still has that stuff and find the finest threaded fitting.

Better yet, go to your junk drawer and find a nut that screws on.

It is a standard thread such as 7/16-20, 1/2-20 and maybe even 3/8-24. I made those things up using a Lawson Products assortment and some tubing, but that was a long time ago.
