The engine number itself will tell you which one it is and can be found on a raised boss under the edge of the head on the driver side near the back above the starter. I always have a hard time finding it but there is a chart on this site that will tell you which engine it is based on that number.

As for the question, yes, the cast iron head will fit but it is thinner so unless the studs were shortened, they may stick out a bit too far. Also, using the 327 head on the 359 will change the compression ratio.
