The car was probably originally titled as 1950 but somewhere along the line ended up as 1949. As a VIN verifier, it would be 1950 to me if I were verifying it so surely the error can be corrected in your state too. I wouldn’t bring up the engine number discrepancy to your local department of motor vehicles, though, as too many details seem to confuse them.
