My former 1964 Imperial Crown Limousine by Ghia had a trunk that rivaled its opulent interior! I never saw a trunk so nicely done but no surprise as when new the car cost more than a Rolls Royce.
Anyway, pushed into into the crevice between the wheel housings and the fenders should be a heavy rope-like material of a rather large diameter, maybe 1-1/2" or so as I recall, that also got flocked with the rest. Off hand I don't know of a source for it but maybe someone else knows or has photos.
