1950 Ultramatic - Missing Pipe Plug?

Hey all - I was working on replacing my snubber bushings (or in this case just installing them - the bushings were looooong gone) and trying to clean some of this mess and found a threaded hole above the serial number, opposite the brass pipe plug on the right. I know that the pipe plug on the right is for pressure testing the governor, but I don't see a pipe plug referred to, or a pressure test for the left rear of the transmission.

Basically, what am I missing? Should it be open or should it also have a pipe plug? Thanks!
