Pertronix is not needed, just do the Ford TFI HEI conversion and mount it in a hidden place in good air flow. You can use your stock distributor, no matter if it's Delco or Autolite. The advantage here is that you can go back to stock at anytime, and even disable it and go back to points in a "limp home mode". It's really the best of both worlds, and better than my original HEI conversion, IMHO. Only for 12v though, that's the only downside.
