Ford module triggers on points opening, same as stock.

The secret of success is to use the remote one with the finned heat sink and put it in a cool place such as, beside the rad.

The ones attached to the distributor could overheat and quit.

I found one on a Ford Probe but they are also used on Aerostar vans and other models from the late 90s.
