Many "surplus" Twelve motors have been used to create bogus upgrades of prewar Eights and Super Eights into Twelves. Beware of Twelves w/o original vehicle number plates.

Then there is the rumored 1954 Patrician with an alleged factory Twelve installation in the Chicago area, supposedly ordered by a livery service. Many leads to it over the years have proven illusive and as far as I know it's just a rumor. And if you look at the height of a Twelve motor, it's far too high to fit, the carb would be well above the hood even with the oil pan nearly scraping the pavement.
