How could I, you ask?

It's a long story, but in a nutshell - the car was orginally MES (white/danube blue/roman copper and bought originally by a guy who was already a 55/56 Packard nut. By the early 60s he had about 50 of them. He didn't like the color scheme so he reversed the blue and white, but for the upper blue used Holland Blue rather than Danube Blue. I guess he didn't like that either and had the upper third painted in Roman Copper so it was Roman Copper/White/Roman Copper and that's the way I bought it.

When I bought it I had said to myself (stupidly) that I was just going to enjoy it and not plough money into it. But I had to do something with the wheels as it had a rainbow assortment of wheel colors. So what was one to do - I painted them Roman Copper to match the rest of the car.

Jump ahead to 4 years ago when I finally decided to have it stripped to bare metal and repainted in the correct original colors, which I did. Knock wood, zero body repair needed, no rust or repair panels needed. But as all the little unforeseen things like cost of some chrome, stainless dent removal and polishing, complete weatherstripping, trunk liner kits, upper and lower inner A-frame bushings, etc. etc. etc. (you know what I mean) piled up, I "went cheap" and said to myself that the following fall I'd repaint the wheels the proper color (Danube Blue). And you know the reason - I haven't done it yet!
