Yup, typo, I didn't even catch it until now! I MEANT a total of 3.588".

Pistons? As long as a piston manufacturer has the proper bore size blank, they can make anything to order. Of course the limiting factor in all of this is the head gasket. A 359 head gasket for the 3&9/16" bore will fit a 356, but I doubt that you can go much bigger than that.
