I too was leary of using a glass bowl in my fuel system, so close to the exhaust manifold. So I took mine off and replaced it with a 5/16" universal inline. I think the filtration is better than that cuttlefish element in the glass bowl too.

I'm looking at it now, it's a Carter and it's complete. If you want it, I'll send it to you free. I know it needs a gasket.
