Bob,

Thank you so much for finding this SP. I have been having issues with temperature with my '50. Checked everything twice and three times found nothing out of the usual.
This SP states that on hot days + traffic the temp guage will spike (go past middle) which is exactly what is happening to me. The SP goes on to state that the water will boil over at around 227deg and all of this is "NORMAL".

Now knowing this .. Simple question .. don't care about thermostats regulating temp or not..

At what temperature, (with a real guage using a real sensor)
in the rear of the engine like the original, do you start to panic (i.e. Visions of blown head gaskets warped heads cracked blocks)?

When it does finally boil over? (Like I am going to wait for this to happen NOT). 230degrees..260..280..300..? My engine has been well over 240deg when caught in traffic.
Why didn't it boil over with 240+deg ? Yes I verified it with a UV temp guage, meat thermometer, and my finger.
(Only kidding).

Thanks again
OTG
