I had good luck cleaning plugged pickup tubes in a couple of cases. I used a bicycle brake cable (inner cable only)in a cordless drill and it opened up the tube. You could also use a broken speedometer cable. It may take several attempts to clear the obstruction. I would remove the cable and clean the debris from the end and fill the pick up tube with carb cleaner and begin the process over. The cables will make the turns in the pick up tube better than the coat hanger. Good luck. Packardtaximan
