Believe that style is the washer Packard called "Mag-Nu-Matic" and being electrically operated, started use in 53 seniors with the push button switch in center of wiper knob. Later ones had a vacuum operated device attached to wiper motor to co-ordinate the wiper action with fluid flow. First ones were just electrically operated but without the extra device. If you do use that type that has the co-ordinator, there will be an extra hose connection which will need to be blocked off.

Most 51-3 washers were still vacuum operated with the vacuum supply and operation controlled by a port off wiper motor. Turning the wiper knob in the reverse direction supplied vacuum to the port and activated the washer. Those versions were like the top photo.

Edit: Second photo is a better picture of the 53 regular electric version without co-ordinator.
