On the subject of Torsion Level motors, mine is off the car (56 Patrician). The insulation on the four wires coming out of the case is not in good shape. I took it to an electric motor repair shop to have them replaced. Their repairman said that the armature must be rewound to replace the wires. That just doesn't sound right. I believe the external wires attach to the field, not the armature. I shouldn't think the field must be rewound to replace the wires either.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm all ears.
