I know nothing about WhitePost but if Ross will confirm the rebuild deficiencies asserted, I think that you should provide the information to the Consumer Protection Bureau and possible the Attorney General or District Attorney office of their jurisdiction.
We all get screwed occasionally on parts that do not meet expectations, but the BTV is an antiquated piece of technology whose inherent difficiencies have filled innumerable posts on this forum and others. Unfortunately, there have been few replacements offered that allow the use of the existing pedal location with its inherent 1-1 ratio.
The BTV therefore is a part that is needed to stop two tons of old steel moving at some speed. Anyone holding themselves out as a professional rebuilder of such a unit has a moral and legal duty to not allow that unit to leaves its shop without assuring that it will not endanger you, your passengers or the general public.
A "lifetime" warranty to repair or replace the unit is of little value to anyone who is killed or maimed because someone took a shortcut on the rebuild.
No one expects a rebuilder to be a guarantor of the product for life, but if the unit fails due to obvious shortcuts that render the unit unsafe, double your money back is not a sufficient remedy.
Excuse my rant but these folks are playing with lives in addition to our tin and I take that personally.
