It smokes a little black, looks like rich mixture. The plate is where the automatic choke is. The car originally came with a two barrel, and installed a manifold and 4 barrel from a 1956 Packard 400 in a junkyard. At the time had a shop install a carb kit. Ran great for awhile with lots of power, now bucks at low speeds and is lacking the power. Took it to a car show, and several car guys said it is running too rich. Maybe the carburetor should just be replaced. If you say Packard, the price doubles from saying GM ! Does anyone know what GM models this carburetor fits?
It is missing the tag, but stamped on it is the number 8610 with 4 Jet next to it.
