I have had the same issue with my 55 Caribbean as I am driving along the car will suddenly cut out. Like Duane, I am able to pull over to the curve and the car restarts no problem. The car doesn't cough or splutter. As mentioned in the thread,this could also be electrical related. I had only noticed the problem since I changed to the torqueflite 727. It's a very strange but dangerous problem.
