Thanks Ross and JV. Just out of curisoity how thick is the metal in the deep 1-3/4 plug compared to the correct shallow 1-49/64 plug????? I don;t have any to measure.
My guess is that the shallow plug is probably thicker metal than the deep plug. Thicknesses of each plug compared to OEM plug thickness.

The only reason i bring up metal thickness is for longevity of the plug life relative to rusting thru.
